About Us

So Who Is Dave?

Dave Sewell has over 30 years of business writing and creative content experience in retail, manufacturing, field service, health care, human resources, higher education, and the performing arts. His employers have included Hybritech, Inc., Pyxis Corp., Intergroup, and The University of Arizona.

A strong customer service background has served Dave well throughout his business career, and in many of his positions he has served as the “go to” guy for ensuring customer satisfaction. In addition, Dave’s communication skills have been tapped for customer and employee training, writing critical reports, and for clarifying complex changes in processes and procedures. For instance, at Pyxis during the company’s start-up phase, Dave was key liaison between the young company and a coast-to-coast network of contracted service providers. More recently, while at the Human Resources department of The University of Arizona, Dave served on the team that smoothly implemented their on-line job posting and applicant tracking system.

Dave holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre from the University of California, Riverside. Dave’s commitment to the performing arts has remained a constant throughout his life. Between Southern California and Tucson, Arizona, Dave has directed, designed or acted in over thirty professional and amateur stage productions. Dave has served as board member and Managing Director of Act One Theatre Company; board member and Education Director for Desert Players Theatre; and founding board member, Vice President and President of Tucson Theatre Ensemble. Through these associations, Dave has gained a clear understanding of nonprofit business practices.

About the photo of me on the home page...

Of the two of us, my wife is by far the better photographer. Nevertheless, whenever we're on vacation I usually try retain an iron grip on the camera, lest the darn thing find itself pointed in my direction. Somehow I must have relaxed my grip long enough for my wife to snap this one of me at the top of the Empire State Building in New York City.

That was over two years ago. Alas, I have not gotten any better looking since then, though I am considerably less wind-blown. Hopefully, the photo won't scare away too many customers.

Cheers,

Dave (The Tucson Wordsmith)
